CARES stands for 'Children Acquiring Rich Experiences and Skills'
The CARES system is built upon a set of 24 skills that research shows builds school success. CARES invites parents and educators to support their child's natural development of these 24 skills from birth through age 5 through playful experiences.
CARES resources are used by educators, home-visitors, consultants, and parents and resource agencies.
Over 30 experts in the field of early childhood contributed to the development of the CARES skill continuum. CARES was successfully piloted and implemented in 155 classrooms throughout northern Michigan.
CARES resources can be used independently or as a curriculum supplement.
CARES aligns with Mother Goose Time curriculum and links with Experience Baby and Experience PreK Project planners.
