WHY THEMES?
Themes help preschoolers construct knowledge and build connections through real experiences. Instead of having a day of disjointed activities, themes organize new information around a unified context, which results in a growing web of knowledge.
Each theme creatively integrates colors, shapes, numbers and letters of the month.
Monthly themes invite children to explore new ideas with an interdisciplinary, multi-sensory approach. Experience Curriculum uses music, art, dramatic play, storytelling, games, books and experiments to ignite imagination and bring the theme to life in four weeks of wonder.
FEATURED THIS JUNE
Habitats & Homes
Review the alphabet with your children and explore the many places people and animals call home. From apartments to anthills, children will discover many cozy places that are full of life. They will learn how to be helpers and contribute to a community by welcoming guests, being good hosts and cleaning up.
SCOPE AND SEQUENCE
THEMES ARE ORGANIZED UNDER
THREE MAIN CATEGORIES:
1. Me and My Community
2. Nature
3. Ecosystems
Each year, we feature 3-4 themes from each category so children can have a complete understanding of how they relate and connect to their expanding world. These diverse experiences help them deepen their sense of self, make healthy life choices, build compassion for others, become stewards of their environment, and think critically when faced with the unknown.
