4 Ways to Use Blocks with Babies

Here are four ideas for block play with baby! Try one of these intentional play ideas from Experience Early Learning infant curriculum.

Stack ‘em Up, Knock ‘em Down

Stack blocks and invite your baby to knock them down with their hand or even bat it with their foot.

Fill and Spill

Set out a big bowl. Put all the blocks in the bowl, dump them out, then work together to put them all back in.

Where’s the Block?

Place a bowl upside down with a block hidden under it. Lift the bowl and act excited. Cover the block and continue to lift and lower the bowl.

Point and Play

Build vocabulary by leaning the picture cards against blocks placed on the floor. Point to each picture and say the name of the object.
